Very good example and demonstration. This is true to the fullest. In case anyone wants to see the math it goes like this...

10,000 - 142 = 9,858

9,858 * .17 * 1 / 12 = 140

9,858 + 140 = 9,998

Real amount paid to credit card company = 10,000 - 9,998 = $2.00
